IMPORTANT NEWS: Following the Commonwealth Government's introduction of increased Bulk-Billing incentive payments, this practice now bulk-bills all patients under the age of 16 years (i.e. up to and including 15 years old) and those who have a valid Commonwealth Concession Card.
Established by Dr. Michael Podagiel in 1993, the Wynnum Manly Family Practice ("WMFP") is a family owned and operated general practice offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services to patients of all ages. Our aim is to provide healthcare of the highest quality, with professional and friendly service in a pleasant environment.
In addition to their primary medical qualifications (usually Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery - "M.B.,B.S."), all doctors at the practice have completed further postgraduate training to obtain Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (F.R.A.C.G.P.) to be registered as specialist general practitioners with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ("AHPRA"). Doctors may also have additional qualifications, training or experience in particular areas of general practice (e.g. child health, obstetrics and gynaecology, skin cancer). As part of their commitment to keeping up to date with the latest medical knowledge, all doctors participate in the Continuing Professional Development ("CPD") program of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (R.A.C.G.P.).
The practice undertakes regular accreditation (most recently with Quality Practice Accreditation, in 2022), assuring patients that the facilities, procedures and staff at the WMFP meet stringent, nationally recognised standards for safety and quality.
Consultation at the practice is by appointment. To make an appointment, please contact our friendly reception staff on (07) 3893 0093, or book online via "Hotdoc" (link on the left side of this page). Although every effort will be made to accommodate patients on a "walk-in" basis, this is subject to availability (which is often limited).
Despite this, we endeavor to never turn away patients with urgent requirements, especially sick children. If you require a consultation in these circumstances, please notify our reception staff.
New patients are welcome at the practice.
