The practice is looking for a new GP to join our team!
Due to significant patient demand, the WMFP is recruiting for a new GP to join our team.
We're looking for a GP to join us on either a full-time or part-time basis, with a view to forming a long-term relationship. As we're in a non-DWS area, applicants must be Vocationally Registered ("VR").
The WMFP is a private billing practice offering competitive remuneration, being 70% of receipts.
We are a busy practice, and have a loyal patient following. Having been established in 1993, the practice has even longer ties to the area, with its founder (Dr. Michael Podagiel) having worked as a GP in Wynnum since 1978. As a result, we're fortunate enough to enjoy long-term relationships with a number of our patients, to the extent that some families currently have four generations attending the practice.
In particular, we recognise the importance of family, and supporting a family-friendly working environment and roster is important to us.
We offer the full range of services that would be expected of a "general" general practice, and doctors are free to choose the services they'd like to offer patients. Doctors all have their own consulting rooms, with no need to "desk-swap". We have a dedicated procedure room (with new ECG, spirometer, and defibrillator, as well as a slightly pre-loved nebuliser), and a practice nurse (Deb, our RN). We're also fully accredited (Quality Practice Accreditation, 2018).
Located in the Wynnum CBD, there are a number of pharmacies, specialist consulting rooms, both major pathology providers, radiology and allied health providers within easy walking distance. Doctors have complete discretion as to which providers they use, with no corporate obligation to use particular providers.
The two major supermarkets are also within walking distance, as well as multiple speciality shops and cafe's. The area is currently undergoing significant development, with a number of unit blocks and a cinema complex currently under construction nearby.
The Wynnum Manly Family Practice is owned and operated by doctors, for doctors. We believe that general practice is a wonderful vocation, and that doctors should be free to make their career whatever they wish. Therefore, we have no requirement for number of hours or days worked, patients seen per hour, or billings raised. We want our doctors to come to work, see as many patients as they want, work the hours they want, and therefore earn the income they want, whilst enjoying their lifestyle and maintaining their desired "work/life balance".
I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss working at the practice with any potential applicant, please feel free to call us on (07) 3893 0093.
Dr. Christopher Podagiel, practice principal.
